By India Today News Desk: Hitting out at Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who recently said his government was saved by the BJP leaders in 2020, BJP leader and former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje said there is no goodwill in his praise but ‘only malice’.

“We are the biggest thorns in the path of Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot. There is no goodwill in his praise but only malice. Ashok Gehlot should not comment on me. Sachin Pilot is taking out a yatra against him. Gehlot ji should pay attention to that,” Vasundhara Raje said.

A political row has erupted within the Rajasthan Congress unit after the party leader Sachin Pilot launched an all-out attack against Gehlot after the latter claimed Raje had ‘saved his government from toppling in 2020 amid the rebellion of Pilot and 18 MLAs against the CM’s leadership. He has also begun his ‘Jan Sangharsh Yatra’, a five-day foot march from May 11 from Ajmer to Jaipur to raise issues of corruption.

Addressing a meeting in Chhoti Khatu (Nagaur), Vasundhara Raje said Gehlot could never get a majority since 2003 and therefore considers her a thorn in his path.

“Ashok Gehlot has never got a majority since 2003. That’s why he considers me his biggest enemy and a thorn in his path. That’s why there is no goodwill for me in his praise, there is only malice,” Raje said in Nagaur.

“He has deliberately said this to harm me. Otherwise, he has been using indecent and objectionable language against me the past 20 years, which I have not forgotten,” she said.

Targeting Gehlot as well as his bete noire within the Congress Sachin Pilot, Raje said, “One spoke in Dholpur and the other in Ajmer today. Elections have come and I am everyone’s target. The aim is to only harm me.”
