By Himanshu Mishra: Almost two weeks after receiving a bomb threat via an e-mail, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, again got a smiliar mail on Thursday evening. The school officials informed the police, who reached the spot along with the bomb disposal squad.

The bomb planted on the premises later turned out to be a hoax, police told news agency PTI on Friday. According to police, the investigation has revealed that the ID from which the email was sent belongs to a student who denied doing sending the mail.

Police on Thursday received information regarding the email sent to the school in which the sender said, “I am going to blast the school at 11 am on May 12”, according to a senior police officer.

Personnel from the police, bomb disposal squad and cybersecurity team reached the school and checked the computer system/mail. The email was received at 6.17 pm on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Rajesh Deo told PTI.

Two teams of the bomb disposal squad along with sniffer dogs and local staff members searched the premises but nothing suspicious was found. Further technical investigation/inquiry is in progress, the police added.

SIMILAR E-MAIL RECEIVED IN APRIL

In April, DPS Mathura Road received a threat e-mail, which was found to be a hoax. Police later traced the role of a school boy in the incident, who was let off after counselling. The boy said he had done it for fun.
